Hamish has played his last game for the club this season as he is off to the Continent to do some ski coaching or something later this month. You know what youngsters are like. Below is young Renwick’s record as a player which simply illustrates what a loss he will be to the club. As can be seen, he has been with us a long time but has come back to the club after a three-season absence. It is one of the pleasures of club life when these prodigal sons return. The youngsters go for a number of reasons: some say I can’t be bothered with that lot, others go off to college, change jobs but whatever the reason when they return to play it gives one a special sense of pride that they want to be part of us once again. No less than with this young man. The son of Will Renwick, who was an outstanding No 8 for us back in the ‘90s, dad and mum Fiona have been proud watchers of their son’s amazing exploits on the pitch this season and so have the rest of us for that matter. A chip off the old block? Most certainly. Better? Who am I to judge or to even offer a comment – for certain, both great players for the club. Hamish you will understand nobody is irreplaceable, although we all know it is harder in some cases than others, but the club wishes you well on your European venture coupled with the hope you don’t get sacked come March 29th!
