Will Croker said the position the Seconds team find themselves in is testament to the Bournemouth strength in depth.
The Zoo Sports Shield Division Two table toppers welcome seventh side London Irish Amateurs Wanderers to Chapel Gate on Saturday (2.30pm) looking to extend their nine-point advantage.
Irish have won just four times this season - including a 29-24 success over Bournemouth in September - and Director Of Rugby Croker heaped praise on his squad.
He said: “I don’t think when we joined the Zoo League with the amount of travel and the quality of the other sides in it, we did not feel we would be topping the league at this stage of the season.
“Especially in our first season in it - so it is testament to all of the players and the coaching team as well as the medical staff that we keep putting players out every week.
“This week, the Second team have a sensational fixture against London Irish Amateurs - and their season has been truly remarkable really.”
One element Croker identifies as key to their success this season is the strength in depth at his disposal.
Croker has made no secret of the fact there is effectively a revolving door between the first and second teams - if the players are prepared to work hard for it.
The side taking the field against Irish this weekend contains players who have tasted first-team action like centres Carlos Snell and Alex Sutherland plus halfbacks Sammy Veneroso and George Drake.
Croker added: “The depth of talent this year is truly incredible.
“We have got almost two first-team players in nearly every position, which is a real luxury to have as a coach.
“It also helps breed real unity and competition within the squad as well.
“The midfield partnership of Carlos Snell and Alex Sutherland for example - at any other club at our level would be the starting first-team centre partnership.”
