RFU Update - Adult Competitive League

RFU Cancels Adult Competitive Leagues for 20-21 Season

The RFU has recently announced they have had to make the difficult decision to cancel the Adult Competitive Leagues (Level 3 and below for Men, Level 2 and below for Women) for the 2020/21 season.  This affects all our senior playing teams.

The RFU stated "We believe that, even if a return to full contact rugby becomes possible, playing a meaningful competitive league season resulting in promotion and relegation is no longer feasible".  Although this is disappointing news, to keep the competitive spirit up, our senior coaching team and players are finalising an intra club league and when permitted we will look at competitive matches with other clubs in respective leagues.

Chairman, Simon Carkeet added "Our senior players and coaching team have, and continue to have, a fantastic approach to the challenges with a positive team spirit.  Although as a club we are all very disappointed for our players, volunteers and supporters who were very much looking forward to seeing live rugby.  However, as we have confirmation from the RFU, our teams will now focus the remainder of what would have been the 20-21 season, to develop our players even further and to plan and prepare for the 21-22 season".
