PRESS RELEASE
Bournemouth Rugby are sad to announce the departure of CEO James Croker. He will leave on 31st March 2020. Having given the club four years, James feels the time is right to explore alternative career options to advance within the sector, and while we understand his reasons for doing so we nevertheless express our regret at his departure.
James has, in the past four years or so in his capacity as Rugby Consultant, Commercial Director and latterly as CEO, helped develop Bournemouth Rugby into an adventurous, community-based club with strong aspirations and solid commercial foundations supported by some very positive sponsors. Chairman Phil Sinkinson OBE said " We have all at the club enjoyed working with James. His infectious energy has been the basis of driving our collective efforts to improve and grow and we shall miss him. We sincerely hope we shall see him at games as often as he can spare the time”. James Croker said "I have enjoyed the past four seasons and leave with a heavy heart although I will of course remain a Bournemouth Rugby supporter. The future is an exciting one for Bournemouth Rugby albeit not without its challenges and I hope the building blocks that we have put in place make these opportunities a reality. I’d like to thank everyone at the club for their support and I wish Bournemouth Rugby the very best for the future."
All at Bournemouth Rugby take this opportunity to wish James every success in his future ventures. We shall not be rushing into appointing a new CEO. Instead we shall be guided by the recent external review and as an interim measure the Executive Committee will assume the responsibilities of the CEO week effective from 1st April 2020.
