Richard started playing rugby at the age of 11 at Pirates RFC. He has also played for Mounts Bay, Exmouth, Royal Marines, Navy, Great Britain Armed Forces RL, Teddington and Barnes. Richard was had retired from Rugby before joining Bournemouth.

We spoke with him to find out what made him to start playing again for Bournemouth Rugby ''I met Beebop and Rocksteady (the Croker brothers) and was compelled to come out of retirement for this exciting 125^th year campaign. It was a great decision as I'm now totally in love with the club and players and truly believe we can win promotion this year''

What has made you fall in love with Bournemouth Rugby ''The ambition and the buzz around the club and the playing squads. Chasing titles is demanding and takes a lot of commitment which the players, coaching and physio staff, sponsors and supporters have in spades. It is infectious and I feel incredibly privileged to still be able to play for such a great set-up
