BOURNEMOUTH RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB

JOB DESCRIPTION: A&M Fundraising & Social Secretary

Responsible to: Bournemouth RFC Academy & Minis Chairman

ROLE OVERVIEW
One of the defining features of rugby is its social element. It’s fundamental to enjoying the game and building team spirit. As A&M Social & Fundraising Secretary, you are the glue that brings and binds people together, whilst raising funds for the club and associated charities through the events and activities that you organise. It requires great personal skill and charm, a love for the game and the club that’s both wide and deep, plus a genuine desire to get everyone involved.

WHAT YOU WILL GET OUT OF IT

You’ll be helping shape the character and future of the club. You’ll be bringing the players, officials, parents and members together in ways that will improve the way both A&M and the club runs – and add an extra dimension to their lives. We think this hugely valuable experience will have currency in any occupation.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED

You will need to be:

  • Enthusiastic, sociable and motivated

  • Committed to the club

  • An effective communicator

  • Able to organise and plan effectively

  • Able to creatively include all areas of the rugby club and A&M

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create an annual ‘social calendar’ – with a minimum of 6 social and fundraising events organised in conjunction with Bournemouth Sports Club with the objective to increase member engagement and raise funds for Bournemouth Rugby, Bournemouth Sports Club and associated charities.

  • Organise A&M events and functions including end of season events and the Minis Christmas party.

  • Attend monthly A&M meetings to promote events, discuss ideas, and garner support and engagement.

  • Liaise with Bournemouth Sports Club to book facilities, catering and entertainment.

  • Work with the Operations & Commercial Teams to identify opportunities for fundraising and social events with potential sponsor/partner engagement and support.

  • Liaise with the senior squad Club Captain to ensure no clashes with senior events, explore options for combined events and synergy between A&M and the senior squads to reinforce a ‘one club’ culture – and encourage senior player support.

  • Encourage new members into the club.

  • Motivate members to attend club events.

  • Promote healthy participation in a fun and family orientated club for the benefit of all.

TIME REQUIRED PER WEEK: 2-4 hrs per week
