CHARLIE Holford has been rewarded for his hard work by being in contention for the Fortitudo-sponsored Bournemouth Lions GBWR WR5s this weekend.
Both the Lions and Rising sides are in Premiership and Championship action respectively with the second round of the Summer Series upon us.
Head coach Rob Emery said Holford had impressed him both in training and recent matches and deserved his shot.
Emery said: “Bournemouth Lions see Charlie Holford moving into the side after a great effort at the last Championship tournament and in the friendly Challenge Cup played between Bournemouth Lions and H4H Endeavour.
“He has grasped the game remarkably quickly and I believe he will be an asset to to the side.
“The team take on round two of the Premiership and sit in fourth place currently.”
Meanwhile, the Rising also see a host of new faces in the mix for starting places.
Tony Hale, Chantel Emery and Sophie Price have all been drafted in and Emery says the trio posses plenty of weapons in their respective skill sets which could do damage for the Rising - who are also backed by Fortitudo.
Emery added: “Bournemouth Rising sees a few new faces in the squad as we welcome Tony Hale, Chantel Emery and Sophie Price into the mix.
“Tony brings a ton of experience and knowledge with him.
“Chantel has been battling a long road to recovery - she was an integral part of the side until an untimely accident forced her onto the sidelines for seven months.
“Sophie is super enthusiastic and is on loan to us from Brighton.
“The energy she brings to the side is fantastic and she also brings a load of knowledge with her.
“I for one am super excited for both teams as they face the challenge of the weekend.
“I am extremely excited for the weekend ahead with both Bournemouth Lions and Rising taking on the Premiership and Championship of the GBWR WR5’s respectively.
“Both teams have worked extremely hard over the last few weeks at training.”
