Freddie Gleadowe made a case for the defence - despite Bournemouth racking up 100 points against ninth team Weston-super-Mare for the season.
Following their 49-25 win at Weston back in September, the South West Premier leaders followed it up with a 62-12 win at Chapel Gate.
After scoring another nine times, centre Gleadowe - who grabbed his side’s fifth try - said it was won by their defence rather then their attack.
He said: “We know that with possession we will blow most teams away and that turned out to be the case in the end.
“Scoring points is something we are really working on - we did a lot of attacking play in our pre-season and we have maintained that throughout the first half of the season.
“But the real area you win games and leagues is in your defence and creating the points difference so we are chuffed that they only scored 12 points against us thanks to that very late try at the end to finish with 12 points - so that is the real win for us.”
After finding themselves just 12-7 up at the break, Croker then saw his side add 50 consecutive points after the interval before conceding a late try.
The Director Of Rugby pinpointed the opening ten minutes after the break as the key time to swing the game in his side’s favour.Croker added: “We felt we were a little bit rusty in probably the last 20 minutes of the first half, so we came out and put in a good performance for the first 10 minutes of the second half, and then we probably let it drop off for the last 20 minutes with a few unforced errors.
“So at the break we were really just focussed on reducing our error count and eliminating the 50/50 offloading game and really trying to hit the 80-20s - the ones which we really knew would stick to try and keep the ball.”
Lastly I must say a big thank you to my sponsor Alan Gilbert who not only sponsors me but supports us in a number of ways, thank you Alan.”
