Bournemouth Rugby is looking to maintain their 100 per cent start to the South West Premier campaign this coming Saturday against Brixham with kick-off at 15:00, Chapel Gate.

The match day sponsor, Fortitudo, invites the community to come and join them in supporting the Lions. Fortitudo’s Richard Carr used to play for Bournemouth Rugby some 30 years ago. “And over recent years, watching how the club has evolved and seeing the fantastic work they do in the local community, particularly with a number of local schools, has just really impressed me”, says Carr. “The years that I played with Bournemouth Rugby gave me such a passion and love for rugby that I continued to follow the club as a fan.”

James Croker, Bournemouth Rugby CEO, adds that “Fortitudo coming on as a title sponsor demonstrates the growth of Bournemouth Rugby and the ambition we are hopefully resonating with the business community. Fortitudo is a brand that isn’t only growing in the local area but a brand that is becoming synonymous with ambition”.

Bournemouth Rugby is not only fuelling their ambition on the field, but also within the community. “Bournemouth Rugby is delighted to be involved with the MyTIME charity - the Bournemouth Rugby charity of the year. The more we get involved in them the more we realise what an amazing charity it is” said Croker.

According to estimates there are over 500 000 young carers in the UK responsible for the care of a loved-one. MyTIME offers young carers a break and the support that they need.

I have been very lucky and appreciate that opportunities aren’t always accessible for all, which is why I am a great believer in giving back to charity and have supported many local charities during the past 30 years. The MyTIME charity is a very worthy cause and I'm pleased to be able to support it along with the rest of the club” said Carr.

Croker added “Young carers aren’t recognised enough, but then they don’t feel they need to be recognised, hence the MyTIME charity with the correct tone of voice, is now just saying we are here, use us, we want to support you. You know, there is no stigma attached to being a young carer. It’s more to do with the community rallying around them, so they feel they got a support network.”

As part of the fundraising efforts a brand new Mercedes A Class can be won at Chapel Gate on Saturday. All money raised will be donated to MyTIME.
