Bournemouth have been making the most of their connections with the armed forces in their preparations for the National Two South campaign.
Since storming to South West Premier promotion last season, Director Of Rugby Will Croker has cast his net far and wide to bring in the best possible talent to the club.
Alongside fellow coach Jon Sanchez, the Fortitudo-backed side have been hard at work making the most of any connection they have to bring in new talent to the club.
Croker said: “We have had a couple of chaps come across to us from the army actually.
“One of them is already known to us - Stephen Jenkinson - after he had a season off last year because of work commitments and is a very good loosehead prop.
“He has brought along with him - or is coming along with another guy called Joe Brown - who is actually an ex-Bournemouth Colt and then played a bit for Wimborne after that.
“He has been away with the Army as well and has come back and both of them have come to us to try to force their way into the Inter Services Squad.”
It is the club’s connection with the Services which Croker believes could end up paying dividends for both parties involved.
Many young players often come through the Chapel Gate ranks before then departing for pastures new.
But Croker says he is pleased to see a couple of graduates of club’s blossoming minis and juniors section return back to where they once learned their trade.
Croker added: “I have had a couple of really, really good chats with the army head coach who cannot speak highly enough of the two guys.
“He has asked us to help finish off their development, so it has been a busy few weeks in the run up to pre-season training for us.”
