Will Croker wants his side to put in a performance at Exeter University which says a lot about the identity of the team.
The Bournemouth Director Of Rugby’s side have secured a total of 13 four-try scoring bonus points this season in their opening 20 South West Premier games.
Coupled with 19 victories, they sit 15 points clear of Barnstaple, and travel to fifth side Exeter University this weekend with Croker targeting another away day success.
Croker said: “It is exciting times and we are getting right down to the ‘pointy end of the season’ and we are aware there are going to be some nerves in every team we play against - whether it is against teams who are looking to go up - or teams who are looking to avoid relegation and we have just got to be ready for that.
“Our away record has been good so far this season and we have only lost once so far at Maidenhead.
“But we feel confident when we go on the road and it is a good opportunity for us to take another step towards promotion.
“It also gives us another chance to start to work on finding that performance as opposed to just sneaking that victory.
“We really want to find that performance we can really put our hands up and say ‘yes, this is how we play rugby when we are at our best.’”
Croker makes a total of seven changes to the side which dispatched of Drybrook last time before their Saturday off last weekend.
The front row sees two switches, with the entire back row also changed and Ben Roberts returning to the engine room.
The only alteration in the backs sees Mike Pope come in for Adam Davies at stand off, and Croker is confident with his side.
The Director Of Rugby added: “We have put Joe Tarrant in at hooker and brought Andrew Spikings in at prop, who has been in fantastic form for the Seconds and put Alan Manning in at six.
“With Ben Roberts available again, he has come back into the second row meaning Joe Rees can slide back to number eight, with Lewis Nicholls’ shoulder injury meaning he is not well enough to be considered for selection.”
