Bournemouth Director Of Rugby Will Croker is trying to keep his players’ feet firmly on the ground for their Chapel Gate clash with Ivybridge on Saturday.
With the top two teams in South West Premier facing off against each other, it would be easy to get swept away with all of the build up for it.
Croker’s men have stormed their way to to the top of the table, but he said he is trying to stay true to his rugby principles for the meeting.
Croker said: “We are aware of the importance of the game but in terms of our approach nothing really changes for it.
“We know we are working to a good formula at the minute and our defence is working well and we are not conceding too many points.
“So from our prospective we have to make sure that we keep the ball and play in the right areas of the pitch and we must try to make sure that we starve Ivybridge of possession.”
In terms of personnel, former Dorset Dockers’ lock Harry Leadbetter has been rewarded for his recent good showings with a place in the side.
The second row came off the bench last week in their 30-13 win at fourth placed Exmouth, and Croker is backing the second rower to do well.
Croker added: “It is great to be able to have Harry Leadbetter come into the side to make his home debut for us.
“He is a lad who has come across to us from the Dorset Dockers.
“It is a big step up for him from playing at the level those guys are at and then coming into our first team.
“But he has equipped himself well with us so far - he has played in the third team, he has played in the second team and now he has come into the first team.
“Against Exmouth last weekend he did a really good job so it is going to be really exciting for him to be able to get involved in a game which will hopefully be with an enormous crowd.”
