Will Croker is hoping to build strong relationships with other clubs when his Thirds’ Team travel to ‘talent factory’ Dorset Dockers on Saturday (2.30pm).
The Wadworth 6X Dorset and Wilts One South of South West Division second placed side will welcome eighth placed Bournemouth.
With former Docker lock Harry Leadbeater progressing into the Lions’ first team this season, Croker hopes to develop the link further.
Croker said: “Our Third team have their big local derby against Dorset Dockers, who many of them used to play for Bournemouth and there is a real affinity between the clubs and there always has been.
“I played with a number of the guys who are now involved with the running of it at Oakmedians.
“Their coach Crispin Cormack was obviously a coach at Bournemouth and a number of the players have played for either Oakmedians or Bournemouth and we want to help them and support them as much as we can.
“In the same way they are helping identify players with the talent such as the likes of Harry Leadbeater to be able to push up the levels and I think that is a lovely sign.
“I think it is a lovely thing which we are trying to nurture and hopefully we can build those relationships with all of the clubs in the local area as we seek to move up the pyramid.”
