Bournemouth called on near neighbours Wimborne to help them prepare for their Barnstaple battle this week.
The two Dorset rugby clubs are separated by just six miles in distance but are one level apart in the league ladder.
South West One East’s sixth side Wimborne provided the perfect preparations for Will Croker’s men, and the Director Of Rugby was indebted to them.
He said: “We trained on Thursday night against Wimborne who brought their first side across to us for a live training session.
“We have used that as an opportunity for our backs to work on their defence against a backline they don’t really know anything about.
“Plus for our forwards it was a chance to practice their defence against a rolling maul which we know Barnstaple will be very strong with.”
Having got back to winning ways in style last week with a 63-0 bonus-point win at home to bottom-but-one Newton Abbot, Croker said his attack is “absolutely buzzing.”
At an average of scoring 37 points a game this season, Croker is right to back his in-form side.
But with a 250-mile round trip on the cards, the Director Of Rugby is urging his men to make a fast start.
Croker added: “Fundamentally it is the usual old cliches of it comes down to what we do and not them so we have a strong defence and an attack which is absolutely buzzing.
“So if we can get into the game early and get some points on the board and put a little bit of pressure onto them and try and quieten down their crowd then we could have a really good afternoon.
“But either way it is a match I am incredibly excited about and have really been looking forward to and I can’t wait for Saturday to come.”
