Will Croker is calling upon the town’s people to get behind The Lions for their crunch clash with Ivybridge on Saturday at Chapel Gate (2.30pm).
The top two teams in South West Premier will face off against each other with just seven points separating the two promotion rivals.
With Bournemouth leading the way at the top over the second placed Devon side, Croker says the club’s support could be crucial.
He said: “The players really, really appreciate the support the crowd give us.
“Over the last few weeks, it has been something which the players have really noticed - how involved the crowd get - and the players absolutely love it.
“There is no greater feeling than turning up and playing in front of a crowd that really want you to do well.
“We have noticed on some of our away trips when the crowd has been significantly smaller and therefore that it can actually negate that sort of ‘home town positive advantage.’
“So we want us to be as loud as possible and have as many people inside the ground as we can and we hope that everyone who supports The Lions and who wants us to do well can be there on Saturday to support us.”
There is not much to separate the two sides at the summit, with Croker’s side winning all ten of their fixtures out of ten so far.
In contrast, the visitors come into the important fixture having tasted defeat twice already this campaign - including last weekends’ 31-25 home reverse to third team Barnstaple.
Croker says that does not guarantee his side anything, and with Christmas looming, the Director Of Rugby predicts it could be a big moment in the season.
He added: “From our perspective we come into this game full of confidence.
“We are obviously in a position now following on from the results last weekend where we have a little bit of breathing space.
“But this is a huge fixture for us and make no bones about it, if we can get the spoils on Saturday then we put ourselves in a really strong position for the Christmas run in.
“But if we were to lose the game on Saturday then it would give Ivybridge and the other teams behind us every confidence that they can get after us.”
