Despite the numbing temperatures and snow, the Rippa Rugby community coaching team has had a brilliant season. Along with running a very successful schools’ tag-rugby festival, and producing three newly RFU Certified Level 2 coaching apprentices, we have recently secured P.E and after-school sessions at two more local primary schools, putting our seven coaches in 14 different schools throughout the week! With thanks to Goadsbys estate agents and Green Tambourine, we were able to produce brand new colourful flyers, inviting children to come along to any Bournemouth Rugby Club home match and watch for free!

Our coaching team includes 3 Community Rugby Level 2 RFU Apprentices lead by 4 Level 2 Lead Bournemouth Rugby age group coaches.
We successfully organized 30 team Pan Dorset Year 5/6 Fair Play Tag Rugby Festival back in February 2018 and have just played an integral part in running Bournemouth Rugby Youth and Mini Festival one of the biggest festivals in the South of England.
We have strong links with Disability Rugby and provide apprentice and coaching support into Linwood School for Learning Disabled.
We run rugby camps for 6-13 year old’s during school holiday periods and attract on average 35 players to each of these camps for children new to rugby or play non/contact forms within schools and rugby clubs within the area.
One of our proudest achievements has seen a massive growth in girl’s club rugby from 6 -11 joint boys/girls age groups and girls only U13/15 teams.
We could not have achieved this on our own, we have a strong rugby club with a very dynamic management group including CEO, President and Chairman, more importantly we have a whole host of sponsors who without their financial backing would not have made this possible.
We would like to thank the following: -
Inspire, Composite Profiles, Barker Group, Goadsby, Carphone Warehouse Buissness, DPD Local,
“We have had Coach Stu in for a term, teaching Tag Rugby to our year 6 children within curriculum time.
With his enthusiastic manner, he engaged all children in fun, fast paced sessions. Throughout this term our children were able to develop their rugby skills alongside their confidence. Emphasis was always set on team spirit and respect for each other. As well as this the launch of the after school club has been a real benefit for our children. They love the games and the emphasis on respect and team work. We would definitely recommend Coach Stu to other schools with his professional approach and obvious passion for the sport.” Laura Dighton - Heatherlands Primary School
