Injured Bournemouth captain Joe Rees says the club has the strength in depth to flourish in National Two South next season.
The proud skipper watched on from the sidelines as his team wrapped up a season double over basement boys Old Pats last Saturday.
The Chapel Gate men roared to their 18th bonus-point success this season out of 26 matches, and he said they are going to need plenty in reserve.
He said: “It is a huge honour for me to captain these guys and it is really exciting times for Bournemouth Rugby.
“I have been here at the club for five years now and I have never seen such strength in depth before because the lads coming through here are champing at the bit all of the time and they are keeping us old boys going.
“I have played in that division before a couple of years ago when the club were in that division before and it is a big step up.
“It is a lot more physical and the attrition rate is a lot higher because we have used 40-odd players this year and we will use that again and more next year.
“So there is a lot of strength and conditioning to be done over the summer but all of the boys can play at that level and I think we will do well.”
The club have tasted life in the fourth tier of English rugby before when they were promoted into the level above for the 2013/2014 season.
Rees says his side will have to learn to be more patient after having to wait 19 minutes to score their first of 11 tries against the side at the bottom of the table.
The number eight added: “The guys did awesome today and it was hard work in the first half when things were not going our way with the bounce of the ball and a few decisions here or there.
“But we managed to stay professional and they finished it off and it was a great way to cap the season off.
“It was really hard watching the guys from the sidelines because I’m injured at the minute, but they were just maybe trying a bit too hard - trying to score off of every first phase of possession.
“We talked about during the week that if we went three, four or five phases of possession then we would get tries and that is what happened in the second half and we ran away with it in the end.”
