Bournemouth Rugby Club Youth and Mini Festival Statement

Bournemouth Rugby’s Youth and Mini Festival would have taken place on the April 18th and 19th April 2020, this has now been moved to April 17th and 18th 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The festival should have had 141 teams playing, a mixture of local and touring teams.  We administer bookings direct with local teams, charging a per team entry fee, which is standard practice within rugby clubs.  In addition, we work with Burleigh Travel who book their touring teams into our festival, this combination allows our local clubs to play great rugby with clubs further afield.  Bournemouth Rugby receives a financial contribution from Burleigh Travel and this is provided after the festival has taken place.  As the 2020 festival was cancelled, we will not receive a financial contribution this season from Burleigh Travel.

Bournemouth Rugby has advised local teams that they will be offered a transfer to next year’s festival or a full refund of their payment, this is standard amongst rugby clubs and the same offer was given to us for other festivals we had teams booked in. 

Bournemouth Rugby cannot influence any decision made by Burleigh Travel with regards to their arrangements direct with their clients.
