Bournemouth Lions Touch recorded their highest ever finish in the NTS after finishing third in round three in Oxford last weekend.
The Lions managed to take a full squad of 16 talented players.
In the first game of day, they took on a strong Manchester Chargers, with a lot of the side not having played together before.
Therefore, the cohesion and structure was immense with the defensive intensity keeping them in the encounter in the first half following some excellent performances from Zubin Tanna, Matt Mahoney and Becky Fagg seeing the score line increase in the second half to the eventual result of 10-6.
Manchester had been a bit of a bogey team for Bournemouth in previous years so to get a victory was a great achievement and set a high standard to be followed for the rest of the day.
In the second game, they took on G-Force (Guilford) where lots of friendships were put aside for an incredibly competitive game.
The pace was absolutely relentless with both sides struggling to get a foothold in the game as defences reigned supreme - with nether side making many defensive errors, it proved to be a lower scoring game with the hooter sounding at 4-4.
But some quick hands and great footwork by Keir Clark and Sam Culter saw Bournemouth snatch the game at the death to keep them on track for a prefect day.
The final game of day one was against Cambridge Bees, and with Bournemouth having performed excellently throughout the day, the hunger to remain unbeaten was definitely there.
With the defensive intensity remaining from the previous game against G-Force and Bournemouth managing to find their mojo in attack with some of the more experienced players showing their quality, Cathi Farrer showed why she is such an instrumental player with excellent organisation in attack.
With Vicky Stevens running the show from the wing, it meant Bournemouth ran out eventual 7-2 victors.
With Bournemouth having a 100 per cent record on day one, spirits were high for day two and game one saw The Lions take on Crewe and Nantwich - a team which Bournemouth have faced many times over the past few seasons.
With Tom Hardiman suffering an injury in the first five minutes of proceedings, it took them a while to readjust to the change in structure and get back into the game.
Crewe played extremely well with far fewer substitutions than Bournemouth and the game finished 7-7.
But as it was a quarter final, a result was needed so the dreaded drop off began. With Crewe scoring off the tap off, Bournemouth were on the back foot but they kept their composure and replied with a score of their own.
With the game now entering sudden death, Bournemouth kept their cool to finish eventual winners thanks to a fantastic diving score from Mahoney.
The semi final saw a replay of the first game on day one against Manchester Chargers.
With a long break in between fixtures, Bournemouth came out a little rusty and struggled to get into it.
Manchester played excellently and made very few errors - not allowing Bournemouth to get back into the game - to run out deservedly as eventual 8-3 winners.
The final tie of the weekend was the third/fourth play off against Nottingham Mavericks who Bournemouth had played at the previous tournament in Banbury but had unfortunately lost to in the Championship final.
Bournemouth learned the lessons of the previous game and made a fast start - scoring quickly and adding more diversity to the attacking structure which had gone missing in the previous game.
Again, defensively, the desire was there and was much improved from the previous run out, to eventually finish 12-5 winners to complete their highest ever finish in the NTS.
The MVP of the tournament was awarded to Fagg for an incredible display on the wing in her debut tournament for the Lions.
