New signing Adam Higgins said it was an easy decision to rejoin Bournemouth Rugby.
The versatile back came through the Chapel Gate ranks originally before embarking upon the next stage of his career which took in Australia and the division above.
Having taken the big and bold step to play on the other side of the world with Bond University in the Queensland Premier Rugby competition, Higgins is now urging his new teammates to play with the same sort of courage.
He said: “We’ve just got to play with no fear this year. There is nothing to lose.
“We should play every game now like it’s our last, and then we should be up there contending by the end of the season.
“It was a good experience playing in Australia - I’ve always been defence minded, but this added attacking elements to my game as well.
“In taking passes you take seconds way - which in rugby is not a lot - but it does make a massive difference.
“It did take me a while to adapt to the style of play out there – and of course to the heat!”
Higgins says his favourite position is playing at centre, but his versatility allows him to also play out wide on the wing.
He also said he envisions himself as the defensive marshall in the backline.
Director Of Rugby Will Croker said having different options in the backs' division will help add good competition for places at the club.
Croker said: “He is a talented player and great communicator.
“Adam is known for his commitment, and short bursts of energy, which allows him to power through the opponents.
“He’s enthusiastic and really hard working. He is definitely going to be a huge feature for us this season.
“Adam enjoys being back at Bournemouth - it is just like family here - and it was an easy decision to make after his time in Cornwall and Bournemouth Rugby is delighted to have him back.”
