It is with great anticipation we head into another tournament weekend of wheelchair rugby with our Fortitudo backed Bournemouth Wheelchair Lions and Bournemouth Rising taking on the Premiership and Championship respectively. It is finals weekend of WR5’s Summer Series and we have worked extremely hard over the last 6 weeks in preparation for this weekend.

Our Lions side are sitting 4th on the log in the Premiership and keen to have a crack at the final tournament. We have had some changes coming into the side due to unavailability with Alan Stevenson who has worked incredibly hard in the Championship side earning his spot. We also Welcome Neelkanth Jadhav back into the side after struggling with a shoulder injury.

Rising sits in 8th place in the Championship and are looking to work their way up the table on Sunday 1st September. We have a new addition in Andrew McEvoy who recently joined us and has shown some fantastic promise as a player. Craig Beasley is also playing for Rising this time and will bring his experience and pace to the side. We will be missing Grace Capaldi who got married last weekend and is away. The rest of the team remains unchanged I look forward to seeing both teams in action as we have put in the hard yards over the last few weeks and we have seen the change in our dynamic in training and will be awesome to see it pay dividends come game time.
